Bleach
Bleach is a Japanese shōnen manga series written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from August 2001 to August 2016, concluding with 74 tankōbon volumes. The supernatural action-adventure series follows Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student with the ability to see ghosts. After an encounter with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper, Ichigo unexpectedly gains her powers and becomes a substitute Soul Reaper himself. His new role involves protecting humans from malevolent spirits called Hollows and guiding departed souls. The narrative expands to explore the world of the Shinigami and their conflicts, including wars with the Arrancar and later the Quincy. Bleach received the Shogakukan Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2005, and its volumes have sold over 50 million copies in Japan. The manga has inspired an anime television series, two OVAs, and four animated films, with a sequel anime series, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, covering the final manga arc.
