Skip and Loafer is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Misaki Takamatsu, serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine since August 2018. Licensed for English release by Seven Seas Entertainment, this romantic comedy and slice-of-life series focuses on Mitsumi Iwakura, an over-prepared high school student from a small town who moves to Tokyo with aspirations for a prestigious university and making a positive impact. She struggles to adapt to the overwhelming city life but quickly befriends Shima Sousuke, a handsome and laid-back classmate. The coming-of-age story explores Mitsumi's navigation of urban challenges, cultural clashes, and social dynamics, while forming bonds and experiencing young love. By March 2024, the manga had over 2.3 million copies in circulation and received the 47th Kodansha Manga Award for Best General Manga in 2023. An anime television series adaptation produced by P.A. Works aired from April to June 2023, with a second season having been announced.
