Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese action, drama, and supernatural urban fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024, with its chapters collected into 30 tankōbon volumes. The story follows Yuji Itadori, a physically strong high school student who, after encountering a sealed cursed object with his Occult Research Club, becomes the vessel for the powerful curse Ryomen Sukuna. This forces him to join a secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers to battle cursed spirits and learn to control or eliminate Sukuna. The series explores themes of demons and the fight against malevolent entities fueled by cursed energy. By December 2025, the manga had over 150 million copies in circulation, including related novels. It was nominated for the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2019 and the 25th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2021. An anime adaptation, including a third season titled The Culling Game: Part 1, is set to begin on January 8, 2026.
