Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto. Its first arc, comprising chapters 1-97, was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 2018 to December 2020 for the shounen demographic. The series resumed with its second arc starting chapter 98 on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ app and website from July 2022, with its chapters planned to be collected in 23 tankōbon volumes as of February 2026. The narrative centers on Denji, an impoverished teenager who, after merging with his pet chainsaw devil Pochita, gains the ability to transform parts of his body into chainsaws. He is subsequently recruited by the government-run Public Safety Bureau as an official Devil Hunter to combat devils, entities born from humanity's fears in a late 1990s alternate timeline. The series, which blends Action, Comedy horror, Dark fantasy, and Supernatural elements, has been critically acclaimed, earning awards such as the 2021 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! and the 66th Shogakukan Manga Award in the shounen category.
